Past Recipients

The Legacy Children’s Foundation has provided grant funding to the following Alberta based programs that are exemplary in nature and designed to meet the needs of this community’s most needy, at risk children/youth.

Program: Healthy Families Program
Agency: Spectrum Youth and Family Services Association (Calgary, Alberta)

The Healthy Families Program is a voluntary, long term, home-based support service for families with children from birth to age six that focuses on supporting parents, promoting healthy parent-child relationships and fostering healthy childhood development as well as connecting families with community resources.

Program: Ready, Set, Go! Preschool Program
Agency: Boys and Girls Clubs of Calgary (Calgary, Alberta)

This community based program addresses the need for accessible, affordable and effective services for Preschool age children with child-focused and parent focused components including education, early identification of developmental delays, behavioral challenges, parent support/workshops and referral to other resources.

Program: Family Resource Centre Early Childhood Development Program
Agency: North Rocky View Community Links Society (Airdrie, Alberta)

This Early Childhood Development Program provides information, resources, and support to families in Airdrie and surrounding areas that contribute to the development of healthier family functioning. Their objectives are: •To increase knowledge/confidence of Positive Parenting techniques. •To increase knowledge of child development, help identify possible delays early and make the appropriate referrals. •To assist in the development of formal and informal support networks.

Program: Head Start / Summer Start Program
Agency: The Community Association for Lasting Success (Vegreville, Alberta)

An early learning program that supports families and their children between the ages of three and five years of age whom may be at risk for learning. The program’s focus is on developing the abilities, skills and experiences necessary for successful life long learning. The Summer Start session provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating summer fun recreational day camp program for these children.
